Christmas

This Christmas marks the first Christmas Lis and I are spending as husband and wife! Christmas is so much more than just shopping and bright lights and trees and decorations. I realised this even more during our short visit to New York a few weeks ago. While in New York, we both wanted to catch a musical or play, and decided to watch the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Yes, I enjoyed the performances by The Rockettes, but there was one scene that touched my heart, and was especially memorable.

It was the nativity scene – a strong reminder of what Christmas is all about.

There was another memorable event of our New York trip – spending our half-year anniversary 10,000 metres above the ground, and in between timezones. Turning to Lis in the plane, I said, “Well, it’s 11th December in Frankfurt now, happy six-month anniversary darling!” – though we were nowhere near Frankfurt.

How time flies, and in a few days, we’ll be welcoming 2012. Still deciding whether to spend New Year’s Eve with the ever-adorable Jojo.

Merry Christmas!

(Rockefeller Christmas Tree. I really miss NYC!)

It’s Christmas Day!

I’m especially thankful this year. Spending Christmas as a married woman is somewhat different compared to when I was still single. It just feels different and a tad special when you wake up on Christmas morning, and wish your Husband a very Merry Christmas. Christmas eve was spent hosting my new relatives for dinner. We’ve had a great Christmas eve spent with my new relatives. It’s nice to be around relatives who’re humorous and really love their food. My new Grandmas are both very sweet, one of them even offered to teach me her recipes since I like cooking. That really touched my heart. I’ve also had a great pre-Christmas outing with my Mom, brought her to her favourite restaurant then treated her to a massage. I feel happy to see her happy. :)

Merry blessed Christmas everyone. :)

Just like that Christmas Day has passed. We’ve had so much fun! Christmas eve and Christmas Day itself were filled with lots of joy. I love Christmas.

We spent Christmas eve at Freddie and Li-Ann’s. The usual people were there, along with our new friends Chrystal and her husband. We spent the entire evening having our very own satay celup, with semi-successful results. The satay sauce burned a little. :P Jon and I bought way too much food. There were altogether 5 kiddies there. 3 babies, and 2 toddlers. Diana’s growing up so fast! Got her a little gift and I’m happy to see she seems to like the gift. As usual she was captivated by the cartoon.  Isabelle is now a chubby little baby who sleeps a lot. The twin babies are super adorable, and I’ve the honour of holding little Lucas to sleep! Stress max while learning how to correctly pick up little Lucas into my arms. Lauralynn (sweet name) their elder sister is an endearing girl, constantly laughing and smiling. I hope our future kids will be as happy as she is. :)

Here’s me holding Lucas (successfully)!

On Christmas Day we went to Jon’s aunt’s place. The 2 boys were there as well. They grew so much! Do all toddlers go through growth spurts? Both the boys were playing with each other, amusing themselves and laughing away. Just listening to them laugh makes me smile.

I’m waiting for the day we can have our own too. That will be some time later so in the meantime, I’ll just love all the kids I’m meeting and all the kiddies I’m teaching. I kind of miss my little ones. :)

Merry Christmas :)

This Christmas has to be the best yet. I’ve already gotten the best presents I could think of.

First of all of cos it’s our home at the Privé,

then I got good news from my HOD,

and lastly I finally got myself what I’ve wanted for years, the bean necklace from Tifanny & Co!

Plus with Jon by my side, there’s really nothing else I will ask for. I’m very very contented

Modern Xmas trees

I’ve always wanted a Christmas tree at home, unfortunately my Mom’s not a Christian so I can only admire the trees at my Aunt’s, or in town.

Somehow having a Christmas tree at home brings the festive season closer to you. I’m not really a fan of the green plastic trees with lots of cheap-looking ornaments hanging on it. Very meaningless and ‘cold’. The prettiest Christmas tree I’ve seen was in a picture of a gigantic sparkly tree in the middle of a snow field. Can’t seem to locate that picture though

While surfing the net I came across some modern Christmas trees that’re relly pretty and interesting too. Maybe I’ll get to have a mini one for our room next time?

Okay this is not very feasible but it’s interesting. I wonder if there’s a panel of glass. If there isn’t it’ll probably be really cold.

This is my favourite. Very clean and very simple. Good for tiny homes.

A bookshelf Christmas tree! How smart!

I love lights, so naturally I like this. Hmmm… not exactly very Christmas-y, but you can probably use it for Chinese New Year as well. Just hang some red ornaments on it.

This will probably be good for a kid’s room.

And…

If all else fails, use paper!
